BibTeX Open Discussions Homework

The gathering of references for the TechList homework was surprisingly difficult for the students of the class. Thus, we have introduced Open Discussions on references in Piazza that will contribute to the 10% discussion grade of the class. It is important that all students of the class participate in this activity and pick at least one of the entries to contribute to. There is plenty of opportunities to contribute.

To showcase what we expect, we have taken one of the answers prepared by the students and added it to this BibTeX lesson. This page has also been integrated into the I524 Lectures and we hope that the students will complete the other entries while using the material in the student answers in the Open Discussion threads (you can draft the text there first if you like).

Please, be reminded that this task is not only about finding the proper reference, but showcasing in detail the process on how you identified the proper reference and why.

We believe the Github example as well as some of the ongoing discussion in the opend discussion threads on other entries showcase what is expected. The assignment is considered completed when Prof. Von Laszewski approves and sends a message in the appropriate Open Discussion.

Submission

There is no formal submission. Both online and residential students simply need to participate in one or more of the discussions listed below and update the BibTeX lesson on the course website as shown above.

This needs to be done by Monday, Feb 27 @ 9 am. We will review your contributions and the BibTeX lesson in class that day.
